Meet Emily
I am a professional pet portrait artist, and have experience in many mediums. I have worked in painting, photography, printing, digital video, and computer derived art.
I was born in South Africa and spent my childhood there. Because of both my parents being in the arts, I have been painting since I could hold a brush! I emigrated to San Diego, California at age 7 with my family. After high school, I went abroad to study art in London, England. I graduated in Fine Art Honours with the highest distinction from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.
My whole life revolves around animals. I am also a dog trainer. I contract train for San Diego Humane Society, as well as spend many hours volunteering with the shelter dogs there. I donated prints of my pet portraits to the Humane Society and they hang in the dog’s enclosures to brighten them up.
I live with a Chihuahua and a Border Collie. You can meet my dogs Kiko and Splash! on my YouTube channel and my dog training blog. I use the clicker training method and have trained my dogs to do quite amazing things.

We practice Canine Freestyle, Rally Obedience, Frisbee, and Trick Training.
